We are excited to announce that we now have a cob (wood fired earthen oven) on-site which perfects the baking of bread, pizza , "Treatzas", and cinnamon buns. If there is a fire ban, this is still an option but pizzas will be cooked in our 1924 wood cook stove from Sackville, New Brunswick.
All pizzas are prepared by hand with a speciality dough (made over 2 days) and fresh ingredients (local where possible). If you wish to enjoy a oven baked pizza for supper, please let us know. A minimum of 4 days notice is required for pizza orders with full payment upon order. No exceptions! Minimum order for 2 x 12" pizzas & the experience is $70.00 + GST. Additional pizzas are $30.00 each. Children age 2 to 10 can opt for a small (6") pizza for $14.00 each. All others are treated as an adult. One pizza / person.
The picnic shelter is available for food preparation (includes BBQ, Coleman Stove, wood cook stove, dishes, cutlery, pots, wash bins, and detergent). We ask that the shelter be left as you found it.
Firewood: $25.00 / bundle (5-6 pieces of averaged sized firewood (5-6" diameter x 18").
Guest access
Enjoy an evening stroll up into the "back 40" acres or simply tour the barnyard and meet and greet all the 2 and 4 legged animals that make Moose Meadows Farm their home.
We ask that our guests do NOT invite their guests to our property / home without discussing it with us first. We may allow for 1 - 2 adult guests.
During your stay
Both Heloise and Ted, your hosts, are able to provide you with information on the area and make some recommendations on places to visit that are close by. Many beautiful lakes, rivers, and trails in the area along with well known historic sites.
Other things to note
Staying on a farm can be exciting. There are many 2 and 4 legged critters to spend time with. These animals can also be vocal. Roosters do crow at night sometimes as do geese honk and donkeys bray. We try to encourage our animal friends to be considerate of our guests who stay the night but sometimes they feel the need to vocalise.
Although the Groom's Quarters has many modern conveniences and is very comfortable, there is plumbed in running water on-site.
The Tent Cabin
Connect with the outdoors with this amazing accommodation experience at award winning Moose Meadows Farm. Located in Bouchie Lake - 15 km. west of Quesnel, guests will share the land with horses, donkeys, ponies, alpacas / llamas and a wide variety of local wildlife. The Tent Cabin is far enough away from the house that guests have much privacy and a wonderful view. You will not be disappointed!
We will be opening the Tent Cabin as of July 15th as some renovations are still underway.
The space
The "Tent Cabin" is a 14' x 16' Canadian made canvas wall tent on a covered western red cedar base; complete with a deck, railings and solar lights. Inside the cabin is a "one of a kind" Queen size bed with Douglas fir tongue and groove flooring manufactured by the Yunesitin First Nation in Horsefly. Facilities are an outhouse close by with a covered picnic shelter a short walk away for cooking and eating.
Guest access
The Tent Cabin is located in its own paddock which is fully fenced for safety. Over the rail fence, guests will be able to view and visit with horses, ponies, donkeys, sheep and alpacas / llamas. The picnic shelter is available for cooking. Facilities are an outhouse.
Other things to note
